Just spent 6 months in Brooklyn and first thing I did upon returning to northampton was get a properly good bagel

Bruegger's is the best bagel chain that I know of. Having lived in Brooklyn, and seen what a real NY bagel can be, the best I can give these guys is 3 stars.

I like their standard offerings, but found their rosemary bagel to be a regrettable experience.

They have all kinds of novel cream cheeses for sale. My advice is to skip them all. They taste too sweet. Go get Philadelphia cream cheese at any supermarket instead.
